I wonder if it's not because of Gimp. One of my friend (a skilled one) tried Gimp and she couldn't obtain a good result because it was always too blurry. Colors used for mystical/magical atmosphere are often purple(mystical/worrying) mixed with blue(mystical/magical) and green (magical/relaxing). The "colors" you chosen were good too (black/yellow, colors of bees) but the blurriness is too much. :3

Your probably right about gimp, i dont like the program very much, and im not realy skilled with the entire digital drawing thing. Im mostly pencil and paper, or charcol and paper type of artist.
Also, i dont have the cash for the proper tools for the program, the drawing stylus/tablet thing, so i did most of that with the mouse, wich is horendously difficult.
i honestly feel guilty posting the work as i did, as bad as it looks, it was just the only thing i have that i could upload to the site.
